Our story

Hi! I'm V and I run Zwyra, a sustainable fashion brand founded in 2024. 

Three years prior to that, I discovered that most of the clothes we wear are made of synthetic fabrics and are dyed with a cocktail of toxic chemicals. I was horrified and promptly started researching alternatives. 

That’s when I stumbled upon the magical world of natural dyeing. 

For centuries, people have used natural dyes to dye fabrics, jewellery and leather goods. However, since the invention of synthetic dyes, the ancient practice of natural dyeing has dwindled to a passionate few.

I wanted to do the same. I experimented with dyeing a few tea towels with flowers and vegetable waste from my kitchen. The colours that I got were astonishingly diverse and beautiful. 

I fell in love with the natural dyeing process instantly since it is a blend of both sustainability and creativity. I started Zwyra so that I could bring my love for art to create products that are stylish as well as sustainable.

At Zwyra, we ensure all our products are made with the utmost care and consideration of you and our beautiful earth in mind. 

We use different parts of plants such as roots, barks, leaves and flowers to dye your clothes and non-toxic metal salts to fix the dye onto the fabrics. Read more on our blog.

Since we are firm adherents to a plastic-free lifestyle, we do not use plastic in any of the packaging materials.

Our products are packaged in plastic-free envelopes and cardboard boxes that can be composted at home. We use paper tape instead of cello tape to ensure 100% of our packaging is plastic-free.
